Was genau soll das heien?

The offending sign at Sandon Point. Picture: Woonona/Bulli Community Facebook Group.

A SIGN overlooking Sandon Points famous Jetty surfing break at Bulli has created a sensation on social media, making headlines in mainstream media, and sparking debate within the community over what justifies being a local.

A photo of the sign, LOCALS ONLY BLOW-INS NOT WELCOME!, was posted on the Woonona/Bulli Community Facebook Group earlier this week, immediately producing fierce debate.

The sign has overwhelmingly been condemned by members of the group, although some have defended the sentiment, recalling the Points notorious parochialism of the 1970s.

The online discussion has also prompted a comment from State MP for Keira, Ryan Park.

This needs to be called out, Mr Park, with a picture of the sign, posted on his Facebook Page.

Valley Road Duo and Broken Creek Band "IndyWatch Feed Vic"

Join us for some sunshine, good wine and folk tunes at The Shiraz Republic, as both Valley Road and Broken Creek Band team up to celebrate the release of their respective latest singles 1982 and The Gathering Wool.

Valley Roads 1982 (to be released on 11th August) is an evocative montage of rural Australian life during times of drought and hardship. Songwriter Marty Mckenna grew up singing to the sheep with his dad on the family farm in Central Victoria, and still tends the flock to this day. Marty says Growing up in the southeastern part of Australia in a farming community, the extreme events of that particular year are talked about often and have become a kind of folklore. The fires, extreme dry and giant dust storms of that particular year still inform farming practices to this day. The memories of farming through the 82 drought are vivid.

In contrast, Broken Creek Bands The Gathering Wool (available now) is about times of flood. Even though shes the daughter of a sheep farmer, Erin Heycox thought she would never write a shearing song. That all changed during the Echuca-Moama floods of 2022. We were on tour and I was on the phone to my Mum who was exasperated. Your father cant find any shearers. Hes over sixty and will have to shear a thousand sheep before the rains come. As soon as I heard that I knew I had to write a song about Dad. There wasnt much else I could do being so far away during the floods.

Share your thoughts on the future of local libraries "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

Corrimal Library

FOR many people, libraries are the heart and soul of the community serving as vital accessible spaces that bring people together.

Wollongong City Council is considering what actions could be taken to make libraries places where people can discover, learn, and connect. People are being called to share their feedback on the draft Library Strategy 2024-2028.

In the northern suburbs there are three libraries, including at Helensburgh, Thirroul and Corrimal. These facilities serve their community by offering free events and programs, providing access to technology and of course, lending books.

Wollongong Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery said a lot has changed at local libraries since the days of catalogue cards and a stamp in a physical book. This is because libraries are evolving spaces.

Our libraries have adapted to meet the changing needs of our community. Over the years, libraries have become dynamic and contemporary spaces that offer a place to study or catch...

Inflation trends are down "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

Inflation trending down

The ABS produces a handy chart, which helps to show the recent trends in inflation.

In March 2022, inflation increased by 2.2 per cent over a quarter, the largest increase in many a year.

But in the most recent quarters inflation has fallen from 1.9 per cent in December 2022, to 1.4 per cent in March 2023, to 0.8 per cent in June 2023.

Source: ABS

Next quarter a big quarter of inflation for September 2022 (1.8 per cent) will drop out of the annual figures, so we'll see another large drop in the inflation figures from 6 per cent to under 5 per cent.

Clearly policy settings are contractionary, and year on year consumer spending now appears to be in freefall.

Hence markets think that interest rate hikes are all but done in Australia.

Housing prices rose sharply in the June quarter on low stock numbers.

Price increase were led by a +5.3 per cent quarterly increase for houses in Sydney.

ACTION ALERT ~ 20 Tons per Day Medical Waste Processing Set for Ravenswood Area "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

Jackson County is hills and valleys including the Ohio River valley

Tell WV DAQ: Dont let out-of-state companies pollute hazardous waste in our communities!

Action Alert from the West Virginia Rivers Coalition, July 24, 2023

Thunder Mountain Environmental Services, an out-of-state company, is seeking an air permit to release emissions from a medical waste incinerator near Ravenswood, WV in Jackson County.

While few details are known about the impacts of waste-to-fuel operations, the draft permit indicates carcinogens will be released into the air if this waste-to-fuel incinerator is allowed to operate.

Moreover, there are many unanswered questions regarding how waste will be accepted, processed, and disposed of, leaving us in the dark about the full extent of its impacts.

The WVDEP Division of Air Quality is about to decide on the air permit. We encourage you to voice your about potential environmental impacts and health concerns for surrounding communities before the comment period closes on Thursday, July 27.

Join us in telling the WVDEP Division of Air Quality that we do not want an out-of-state company profiting from hauling in tons of toxic trash to pollute and dispose of in our communities.

In the town of Follansbee, West Virginians have already taken a stand against toxic facilities like this. We must follow their lead in Ravenswood, and anywhere our land, water, and environment are threatened.

Together, we can create a cleaner, safer, and healthier future for all.

July 26, 2023, House UAP Hearing Archive Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Implications on National Security, Public Safety, and Government Transparency "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

Background

This page is setup on The Black Vault to archive details about the July 26, 2023, subcommittee hearing about Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena, or UAP. It was held by the National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs subcommittee.

Archived here will be all information released, including additional information added by The Black Vault. This page will be updated through the day on July 26, then later archived to maintain the information.

Original Press Release of July 20, 2023

WASHINGTONThe Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs will hold a hearing titled Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Implications on National Security, Public Safety, and Government Transparency. The subcommittee hearing will explore firsthand accounts of unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) and assess the federal governments transparency and accountability regarding UAPs possible threats to U.S. national security. This hearing will also highlight legislative efforts to bring transparency to UAPs and require the federal government to provide the American people with information about potential risks to public safety and national security.

The Pentagon and Washington bureaucrats have kept this information hidden for decades, and were finally going to shed some light on it. Were bringing in credible witnesses who can provide public testimony because the American people deserve the truth. Were done with the cover-ups, said Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.).

In 2022, at the direction of Congress, the Department of Defense created the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) to investigate UAP reports. The federal government spends millions of dollars examining UAPs yet refuses to be forthcoming with the American people as it continues to declassify certain videos and studies on various UAP incidents with little clarity on the subjects origins.

The status quo on the part of the U.S. government has been to leave the American public in the dark regarding information about UAPs, refuse to answer questions posed by whistleblowers, avoid the concerns Americans have about the possible threats UAPs pose to our national security and public safety, and default to extreme and unnecessary over-classification. If the last few months have taught me anything, it is that this is an issue that matters to Americans. It also impacts the transparency and accountability our government is supposed to grant to the pe...

6 Bathroom Tile Trends "IndyWatch Feed Vic"

Whether youre in the market for a full bathroom makeover or a simple touch-up, there are plenty of bathroom tile trends that can kick-start your transformation. Tiles are a fantastic way to add colour, patterns and visual flair to your bathroom and make an impact. Today, well discuss 6 bathroom tile trends that will help you update your bathroom and create something modern, stylish and impactful.

  1. Mixed Matte and Gloss Tiles

While combining tiles with different finishes might sound odd, the reality is that its a great way to enhance the visuals of your bathroom and create an aesthetic thats modern and cutting-edge. We recommend combining matte and gloss tiles of different shades of the same colour, as it creates a bold yet understated design. What makes it so visually appealing is that the glossy tiles catch the light, opening up the space and creating a contrast with the matte tiles that catch your eye for all the right reasons.

  1. Experimenting With Patterns

Patterned tiles remain a staple of modern bathrooms around the world, immediately injecting personality anywhere they go. One thing to consider when selecting patterned tiles is their size, especially in relation to the dimensions of your bathroom.

You dont want to create something too busy or overwhelming, so consider selecting a soft pattern that will complement the rest of the interior rather than distract from it. If you do want to select a pattern thats more dramatic, balance it out with simple walls and fixtures so that your eyes know where to look and dont cause a sensory overload.

  1. Metallics

Whether its copper, gold or brass, metallic-effect tiles are a surefire way to create an industrial-style bathroom thats sleek and modern. With their rich tones, metallic tiles are unexpectedly warm and come in an impressive variety of finishes, sizes and colours.

Tile Shop Geelong

If you do decide to go with metallic tiles, stay away from choosing any clashing tapware in your sink, shower or bathtub. Matte black can be a great alternative, allowing your matt tiles to be the focal point of the room and stand out in the best way possible.

Former Prisoners Find Services Inaccessible "IndyWatch Feed Qld"

A recent study found that the services available to former inmates in Australia struggle to access services that are supposedly made available to them post-release.

The inaccessibility of these services leads to greater recidivism and reincarceration, a social and economic harm to the broader community.

Experts are calling on the government to overhaul the system and emulate systems that have been used overseas.

Dont think it, just feel it: Folklore weaver Fanny Lumsden returns with new album Hey Dawn "IndyWatch Feed Vic"

With a profound dedication to storytelling and an innate ability to weave emotions into her songs, Australian artist Fanny Lumsden is on the cusp of releasing her much-anticipated album, Hey Dawn.

A labour of love and passion, Lumsden worked intensively to find the world, themes, and messages of this album. Due out on 4 August, it promises to be a captivating exploration of human experiences and emotions through the lens of Lumsdens unparalleled storytelling.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

Essentially its exploring how the stories we are told, the ones we tell and the ones we tell ourselves shape us and change colour over time, Lumsden says of her new release.

Sonically I wanted each story to feel right (emphasis on the feel). The theme song, opening track/front cover song Hey Dawn was a moment I had in the recording process where it all came together, I got up one morning whilst recording and as the sun slipped over the horizon I literally said to it hey dawn and from that moment on I was a lot more present and accepting that the place I was in, the person I am right now and the stories I have to tell are the right ones for this moment, dont think it. Just feel it.

Described as her most sonically diverse offering yet, Lumsdens approach to incorporating different musical elements while staying true to her acoustic songwriting style is rooted in her gut feelings and intuition. I am excited to explore, she says, and I dont feel like instrumentation should be limited due to what genre you have been put in. We made decisions based on each song, each story, and focused on what was the best way to portray them through sound.

This years Talisman Sabre exercise involved 11 other nations and over 30,000 military personnelby Dave DeCamp Posted on  https://news.antiwar.com/2023/07/23/us-australia-launch-largest-ever-joint-military-exercise/

The US and Australia on Friday launched the largest-ever iteration of their Talisman Sabre exercise as the US is increasingly focused on building alliances in the Asia Pacific against China.

US Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro spoke at the opening ceremony on Friday and said the massive drills served as a warning to China. The most important message that China can take from this exercise and anything that our allies and partners do together is that we are extremely tied by the core values that exist among our many nations together, he said at a naval base in Sydney.

In a symbolic gesture to demonstrate the growing military ties between the US and Australia, the US on Saturday commissioned a naval vessel in Sydney, the USS Canberra, an Independence-class littoral combat ship. It marked the first time the US ever commissioned a US Navy ship was commissioned in a foreign port.

Del Toro has previously said that the US Navy envisions turning Australia into a full-service submarine hub for the US and its allies in the region under the AUKUS military pact that was signed between the US, Britain, and Australia in 2021 that will result in...

Daniel Duggans imprisonment is a denial of justice and an affront to Australias sovereignty "IndyWatch Feed Vic"

Contributed from Victoria

Too many Australians still dont know who Daniel Duggan is, even if his case has significant repercussions and says a lot about how legal process is Australia is being transformed into something that we should all be worried about. Everyone should know more about what is happening to this man.

Daniel is a former American and now Australian citizen and a family. He was once a US marine, and since coming to Australia, built a pilot training business. This led him to a contract to for commercial pilot training in South Africa, with a company that goes by the name of the Test Flying Academy of South Africa (TFASA).

It happened that he had some of the students were Chinese citizens. Theis led authorities in Washington to accuse TFASA and Duggen of working with the Chinese to undermine United States policy. It led to action to capture Duggan, and it appears, with the assistance of the Australia Security and Intelligence Organisation (ASIO), which is immersed in the United States led confrontation with China.

Through this agency Daniel Duggen was called and offered a job in Australia. He went for it, was arrested by federal police and imprisoned, wasnt offered bail and has been kept in solitary confinement. Daniel has now been locked up in this way for more than 9 months, without an ending in sight.  He next faces court on 24 November.

The cover was the issuing of an Interpol red notice that provides for extradition on certain grounds. It excludes extradition in cases that are political. Australia also has an extradition treaty with the United States, and this too spells out that it does not allow extradition for any alleged political offence.

All of this is being violated.

Reviewing current and proposed sexual consent laws "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

Blue Seat Studios

Affirmative consent for sexual interactions became law in NSW on 1 June, 2022, but not all states and territories in Australia have affirmative consent laws. On 29 November, 2022 the Australian Senate referred an Inquiry into current and proposed sexual consent laws in Australia. Today at the Senate Hearing into current and proposed sexual consent laws across Australia, No to Violence CEO Jacqui Watt called for an affirmative consent model for any case that comes before the court.

Other recommendations that have been made include harmonising Australias consent laws across all jurisdictions to ensure consistency of both laws and understanding of sexual consent which were recommended by both Full Stop Australia and ANROWS (Australias National Research Organisation for Womens Safety) who both provided submissions to the Inquiry.

The Law Council recognised the inconsistencies in consent laws across various jurisdictions on the experience of victim-survivors in their submission and supported a national evaluation of sexual consent laws. They also recognised that women and girls are more likely than males to have experienced sexual violence and that the incidence of sexual harm often overlaps with other patterns of violence, including family and domestic violence and child abuse, and disproportionately affects already marginalised groups in society.

Sexual violence is widespread but underreported. Most reports of sexual violence do not make it to court, pointed out the Law Council.

New Files Reveal MKULTRAs Terrifying Reach: Ethnic Bioweapons, Mind Control, and Disturbing Experiments "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

In a groundbreaking investigation, renowned anthropologist Orisanmi Burton has blown the lid off a dark chapter in CIA history. Classified Agency files, recently obtained through Freedom of Information laws, expose shocking ties between the infamous MKULTRA program and nightmarish experiments on prisoners of color within the United States.

Burtons findings expose MKULTRAs sinister mission to develop psychological warfare and behavioral manipulation tactics specifically aimed at people of color under the guise of counterinsurgency. Unbelievably, these barbaric trials were conducted during a turbulent era when numerous U.S. government agencies relentlessly sought to crush the civil rights movement, and prisons brimmed with political radicalism.

This disturbing revelation puts the CIAs actions into sharp focus, revealing a ruthless bid to quell Black resistance both on the streets and behind bars. But it doesnt stop there. Burtons disclosures raise urgent and profound questions about the far-reaching impact of these operationsboth in the past and, unsettlingly, even today.

Among the most haunting questions is whether the Agency actively pursued a race-specific mind control weaponan idea that strikes at the very core of ethical and moral boundaries.

As the nation grapples with this revelation, one thing is certain: Burtons expos demands answers and accountability for the harrowing atrocities committed in the name of national security. The truth must be unveiled, and justice served for those who suffered under the relentless grip of MKULTRAs clandestine horrors.

Penetration of Defenses

Of the many medical research facilities abused by the CIA for the purposes of MKULTRA, Allan Memorial Institute, a psychiatric hospital in Montreal, Quebec, looms perhaps the largest and most darkly.

It was here that from 1957-1964, the Agency secretly operated the programs Subproject 68 under the leadership of notorious psychiatrist Ewen Cameron, the Institutes founder. Cameron sought to depattern minds via a technique known as psychic driving. It entailed drugging unconsenting, unwitting patients with incapacitating cocktails of psychedelic substances, then subjecting them to electric shocks while they listened to hours of recorded, looped audio.

Cameron hoped to render his subjects minds a blank slate onto which new behaviors, thoughts, memories, and personalities could be surreptitiously imposed from the outside. It also se...

Worldcoin Founders Refusal To Answer Token Distribution Question Sparks Controversy "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

Worldcoin co-founder Alex Blanias recent refusal to disclose the tokens distribution model has raised some eyebrows, including that of John Deaton, who has expressed his dismay at his action.

Something Fishy With Worldcoin?

A video surfaced on Twitter in which Alex Blania, during a recent Bankless interview alongside fellow co-founder Sam Altman, refused to respond to the hosts question on Worldcoins token distribution, citing the regulatory uncertainty in the US as why he couldnt answer the question.

The Twitter user (@Pledditor) posted the video with the caption:

When a crypto founder refuses to answer questions about token distribution

In the video, the host asks Blania to explain the distribution of the WLD token and Blania is quoted as saying: Look, many of the details we cant talk about here for the regulatory uncertainty in the United States.

The video quickly went viral and sparked controversy as to whether Worldcoin was just another ponzinomics or, indeed, Alex Blania was honest about why he couldnt answer the question.

However, renowned crypto lawyer John Deaton, who represents some XRP holders, quickly reacted to the video in a tweet.

Deatons tweet read:

Wtf did this dude just say?  Did he literally say that he cant talk about how WorldCoin is distributed because of the regulatory uncertainty in the United States?

If there was ever a signal to RUN AWAY as fast as you can from a project, HERE IT IS. Is he saying he cant tell you how to acquire it or what youre acquiring because he might get sued?

Plants Remove Cancer Causing Toxins From Air "IndyWatch Feed Nsw"

Plants remove cancer causing toxins from air:

A ground-breaking study has revealed that plants can efficiently remove toxic petrol fumes, including cancer causing compounds such as benzene, from indoor air.

The study was led by University of Technology Sydney (UTS) bioremediation researcher Associate Professor Fraser Torpy, in partnership with leading plantscaping solutions company Ambius.

The researchers found that the Ambius small green wall, containing a mix of indoor plants, was highly effective at removing harmful, cancer-causing pollutants, with 97 per cent of the most toxic compounds removed from the surrounding air in just eight hours.

[...] Ambius General Manager Johan Hodgson said the research presented new evidence into the critical role played by indoor plants and green walls in cleaning the air we breathe quickly and sustainably.

"We know that indoor air quality is often significantly more polluted than outdoor air, which in turn impacts mental and physical health. But the great news is this study has shown that something as simple as having plants indoors can make a huge difference," Mr Hodgson said.

Previous studies on indoor plants have shown they can remove a broad range of indoor air contaminants, however this is the first study into the ability of plants to clean up petrol vapours, which are one of the largest sources of toxic compounds in buildings worldwide.

[...] "At Ambius, we see over and over again the effects plants have in improving health, wellbeing, productivity and office attendance for the thousands of businesses we work with. This new research proves that plants should not just be seen as 'nice to have', but rather a crucial part of every workplace wellness plan.

"The bottom line is that the best, most cost effective and most sustainable way to combat harmful indoor air contaminants in your workplace and home is to introduce plants," Mr Hodgson said.
