Installing Linux Is Hard - The lies of tech reviewers Corporate Australia

There are plenty of resources on the internet regarding many topics, where with respect to technology there is an emergence of fake reviews by alleged authors where it's quite clear that they were 'written' by A.I or just copied and pasted from elsewhere by an alleged author.

There seems to be an anti Linux sentiment for whatever reasons, where just plain and simple lies are being propagated.

In this case the site makeuseof.com clearly states that "Installing Linux is Hard", where this is factually not so.

Here is an excellent video from Planet Linux detailing the comparison between installing Windows 11 and a distribution of linux called Linux Mint.

Lies, Lies, and Autism, Part 4: Who Really Is Guilty? Gumshoe News

by Mary W Maxwell, LLB

Readers at GumshoeNews.com know that when I am writing a series, there may be a wider-then-expected look at a given subject matter. In this series I aim, first, to remind everyone of the horror of harming childrens brains. Second, we look at societys losing its grip on truth such that respectable members can now say utterly cuckoo things like Get vaccinated, Folks, there is no safety issue here. But now I think wed better pause to deal with a third issue guilt and blame for these crimes.

In Part 3, I quoted Lily Loat (1990-1958) an anti-vax activist. She pointed the finger at many doctors who outrageously supported vaccines for smallpox, diphtheria, and polio, when they must have known they were speaking deceptively.

It was not Loats contention that those persons wanted to harm the patients. But it is my contention that they did indeed want to harm the patients. Some of them were engaged (I hypothesize) in grievous bodily harm or even murder. In my book, Consider the Lilies, I say that even in 1798, the first inoculator, Dr Edward Jenner, was a bad guy. The opening sentence of my April 13, 2020 article at Gumshoe is:

I consider the work of Edward Jenner, father of vax, to be a fraud and the work of Louis Pasteur to be even less worthy than that.

Oh, incidentally, Lily Loat notes from Lancet, 2nd Feb. 1928, p. 233 that, at a meeting of the Royal Society of Medicine in London, Professor Major Greenwood said that there was a good deal of evidence that Jenner had been a rogue.

Where does one draw the line, as to who should carry the blame? Who is liable, when a horrible injury has been caused to A by B?  Presumably A should be investigated as to his involvement and his motives. Does he adhere to a religion that requires the harming of persons? And if so, is that religion secret? Ah, why would that be?

Moreover, if A harms numerous Bs, there are usually some Cs involved. Did C know of the harm?  Was he told there was a good reason to do it anyway? Was he threatened if he did not cooperate?  Was he highly paid for mixing the poison at his apothecary? Was he asked to appear as the author of a journal article that advised doctors that vax was great stuff? Did he personally feel that some deaths are acceptable collateral damage because vax is overall such a good thing?

Oh, and just to show how far I can carry the witch-hunt, we heard that both the Rolling Stone editor and the boss at Salon.com rescinded Robert F Kennedy, Jrs helpful and important 2005 report...

AliExpress enabling frausters doing nothing about it? Corporate Australia

Any selling medium does attract criminals and while in Australia there may be law against false or misleading advertising, Australian 'consumers' are at the mercy of others.

There are plenty of fraudsters, Chinese nationals, on AliEpress, where they are blatantly ripping off overseas buyers.

What is AliExpress doing about it? Very little, not enough.

What is the Chinese government doing about it? Nothing!

Would one seriously expect a government to act against its nationals defrauding 'round eyes', when (globally recognised) copyright law has zero effect or execution in China?

What about Team America World Police, when are they going to save the day?

As they say, buyer beware.

Report to the UN shows the threat of ISDS provisions to human rights and the environment AFTINET

10 July, 2023 In response to a call from the UN, legal experts from the Centre for International Environmental Law, International Institute for Sustainable Development and ClientEarth have released a submission outlining the dangers of Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) on the right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment.

The report finds that ISDS has a negligible positive impact on foreign investment but is responsible for disproportionate negative impacts on human rights and the environment. Indiscriminate investment protection gives equal protection and compensation to both activities that damage and those that protect the environment, undermining the polluter pays principle.

Moreover, the threat of ISDS claims disincentivises countries from adopting regulation to protect the environment. This, alongside ISDS tribunals focus on investor protections sidelines countries obligations to protect human rights and the environment, weakening implementation of international requirements.

The constraints ISDS has on environmental regulation are particularly clear in countries attempting to transition to low carbon economies, exacerbating inequalities between the Global North and South.

The report outlines four themes in the experiences of countries and public in challenging ISDS claims which undermine access to the right to a clean, healthy and sustainable environment.

  1. ISDS claims are numerous, often opaque, and largely inaccessible to the public. The use of ISDS enabled investors to bypass domestic courts, which meant the cases could remain, for the most part, private and shut out local communities from participating. Local communities were often denied admission to the case, when their evidence was allowed, environment and human rights considerations were restricted or given inadequate weighting. Moreover, their evidence did not have to be considered by the tribunal, and so for the most part, was not.
  2. ISDS is a powerful investor lobbying tool to prevent and delay government regulation. The threat of ISDS claims alone are often enough to prevent the government from enacting or maintaining policy measures. Compensation claims for lost future profits can be billions of dollars and cost millions in legal fees to defend. Indeed, both Denmark and New Zealand have...

Plastics consumption feeding climate crisis National News Echonetdaily

Plastic, plastic and yet more plastic. Photo Hans Braxmeier Pixabay.

Groundbreaking research into the climate costs of Australias plastic addiction shows that the plastic consumed across the nation in just one year produces more greenhouse gas emissions than one third of our car fleet.

The report, produced by environmental consultants Blue Environment for the Australian Marine Conservation Society and WWF-Australia, shows that in 2020 Australias emissions from plastics created more than 16 million metric tonnes of greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions produced by 5.7 million cars on Australias roads annually.

Accelerating plastic consumption

The report says that if we continue on our current path of accelerating plastic consumption, the emissions from Australias plastics will more than double to 42.5 million tonnes annually by 2050 the year Australia has legislated to reach net-zero emissions. The Center for International Environmental Law estimates plastics could account for up to 15 per cent of the worlds carbon budget by 2050 if decisive action is not taken.

The report, Carbon emissions assessment of Australian plastics consumption, is the first major study to model the emissions associated with the production and disposal of plastics, including recycling, and what Australia can do to cut those emissions. The report shows that plastics produce significant emissions, and virgin plastics made from fossil fuels were the most emissions intensive to produce, creating more than double the emission...

The United States has decided to use to use cruel cluster bombs that target civilians The Pen

Contributed by Jim Hayes

United Sates president Joe Biden has given the green light to send cluster bombs to Ukraine. This is an open defiance of the Geneva Convention, which long ago banned the use of these bombs. They are designed to attack civilians rather than military targets.

More than 100 countries have signed the convention against the use and transfer of cluster bombs to other parties.

The use of cluster bombs by the United States was one of the biggest scandals of the Vietnam Wars. Sometimes, they were even loaded with explosive toys and delayed explosives to be dropped villages to target their children. The purpose was to punish the parents for supporting the other side in this war.

Cluster bombs carry small bomblets designed to cover a wide area with small explosions designed for civilian targets

Whichever civilian demographic is targeted, cluster bombs leave behind a lot of unexploded bomblets that continue to kill and main for years. Their use is defies the international convention against them, and any nation using them should be brought to justice. This wont happen here, because Washington considers itself immune from international law via its policy of American exceptualism.

Cluster bombs will be used against civilian targets in Ukraine. One can surmise from this that the target will be the ethnic Russian population centres. Like in Vietnam, this only makes sense when the purpose is to terrorise and punish for supporting the wrong side.

Claims from Washington that these bombs will not be used against civilians are hollow. They are of little use against fortifications. The cluster bombs are to be delivered with shells from artillery. But artillery serves to target enemy army positions. To be effective, they would have to be turned away from these positions are redirected towards population centres.

There is the real possibility that this weapon could be used against civilian population centres in Russia.

Various reports suggest that a rational behind the shift is that stocks of conventional shells are running low, and that this is putting Kyivs war effort at serious risk. So, there is a certain desperation coming in to play.

Are You Really Vitamin D Deficient? 4 Things to Consider "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Taking vitamin D in Western culture has quickly become an if some is good, more is better game of taking chances on mega-dose supplements.

But there are problems. Major problems, that no-one is talking about. Till now.

Problem #1 The deficiency ranges:

What even classifies vitamin D deficiency? The answer varies, in short, It depends on who you talk to. Some of the biggest authorities wildly disagree:

The Vitamin D Council definition [1]:

Deficient: 040 ng/ml

Sufficient: 4080 ng/ml

High normal: 80100 ng/ml

The Endocrine Society definition [1]:

Deficiency 20 ng/ml

Insufficiency = 2029 ng/ml

The Institute of Medicine definition [1]:

Risk/deficiency 12 ng/ml

Risk/insufficiency = 1220 ng/ml

Sufficient = 20 ng/ml

So depending on your medical authorities, you could be considered deficient and sufficient at the same time.

Another important detail to know is about the man behind the push for higher vitamin D sufficiency levels, Dr. Michael Holick. Holicks momentum around for vitamin D has been described as extreme and the man has clear conflicts of interest around his push for guidelines that equate to widespread deficiency. You can read all the dirty details about how he sold America on vitamin D and profited.

Problem #2 Reasons vitamin D can be low that dont stem from not enough vitamin D:

The following summarizes some of the reasons vitamin D 25(OH)D (storage form of vitamin D) can be low that do not indicate you need to supplement with vitamin D3:

  • Low magnesium [2]
  • Low boron [3]
  • Low vitamin C [4]
  • Inflammation/infection as someone who...

Zodiac Unidentified Aerial Phenomena - scientific research

Introduction

From time to time, someone will bring up the topic of "Zodiac." By this, they mean either "Zodiac" is one name for the MJ-12 cover-up group, or "Zodiac" is the name of a crashed UAP retrieval program. Bits of information are scattered in a number of places, so I thought it would be useful to bring together the threads of information which I have come across while researching "Zodiac."

1998 UFO Magazine

Sedge-Masters.pdf (richarddolanmembers.com)

An intriguing article appeared in the May/June 1998 (Vol.13 No.3) issue of "UFO Magazine." Titled, "Deep files Trans "X" Communique:Letter to a UFO Recruit," it is attributed to "Greg Halifax." The editor of the magazine prefaced the article with the following:

"What you're about to read is largely unverified...But that doesn't mean it's not true. It's the type of UFO information that will typically be deeply buried, then carefully studied and compartmentalized by a small faction within the intelligence community, as suits any sensitive black operation. As such straightforward corroboration is difficult at best. But UFO Magazine has the advantage of more than a decade's worth of collected bits of information and broad-based facts on which to construct some fair extrapolations, drawn from a range of sources. The following incident reflects upon one of the blackest of American covert operations - that deals directly with the UFO phenomenon."

The article

The article relates that a character called "Sedge Masters" who was recruited by the CIA and briefed on an assignment at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. The briefing letter...

Irish farmers outraged over government plan to cull 200,000 cows to meet climate goals "IndyWatch Feed War"

Cassie B. Natural News July 7, 2023

Irish farmers are pushing back against a proposal by the government to cull hundreds of thousands of cows in hopes of meeting their commitment to becoming climate neutral.

A report by the Irish Department of Agriculture outlined how 200,000 cows could be killed over the next three years to meet carbon targets. The plan would reportedly come at a cost of around 600 million euros to taxpayers, with the document indicating that 5,000 euros per cow would be offered as compensation.

The countrys Environmental Protection Agency said that the agriculture industry was creating nearly 40 percent of the greenhouse gas emissions there, and much of it stems from the methane in livestock and the use of nitrogen fertilizer. The country has committed to reducing its agricultural emissions by 25 percent by the year 2030.

They are calling the plan a dairy reduction scheme, but the result is the senseless slaughter of hundreds of thousands of animals in the name of somehow helping the environment.

The cull would entail killing 65,000 cows per year over the next three years, reducing the countrys overall dairy herd by 10 percent. It is being positioned as a potential retirement exit scheme for aging farmers.

Farmers believe cattle culling will backfire

The president of the Irish Farmers Association, Tim Cullinan, said that the plan would only serve to increase farmers mistrust in the government and will not have the intended environmental aims.

He said: Reducing dairy or beef production in Ireland will also lead to carbon leakage with production moving to other countries with a higher carbon footprint. This is likely to increase global warming rather than reducing it.

Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association President Pat McCormack believes that the focus should be on other sectors when it comes to helping the environment. He said: Were the one industry with a significant roadmap, and, to be quite honest with you, our herd isnt any larger than it was 25 to 30 years ago. Can the same be said for the transport industry, can the same be said for the aviation industry?

He added that any culling that takes place needs to be done on a voluntary basis. McCormack said that farmers would be willing to do their part to help preserve the environment, but that forcing the issue is not a solution.

Other critics of the plan fear that the move could have a major effect on the country that is not unlike what happened during the potato famine. Australian geologist Ian Plimer said that the move would only end in disaster.

miR-30e-3p in natural killer cell-derived exosomes inhibits the proliferation and invasion of human esophageal squamous carcinoma cells. "IndyWatch Feed Health"

PMID:  Xi Bao Yu Fen Zi Mian Yi Xue Za Zhi. 2023 Apr ;39(4):295-302. PMID: 37087546 Abstract Title:  [miR-30e-3p in natural killer cell-derived exosomes inhibits the proliferation and invasion of human esophageal squamous carcinoma cells]. Abstract:  Objective To investigate the effects of natural killer (NK)-cell-derived miR-30e-3p-containing exosomes (Exo) on esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) cell proliferation, apoptosis and invasion. Methods NK cells were isolated and amplified from the peripheral blood of healthy donors, and NK cell-derived Exo was isolated and identified, which were further co-cultured with NEC cells and were randomly grouped into Exo1 and Exo2 groups. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) was used to observe the morphology and size of exosomes. Western blot analysis was used to detect the expression levels of exosome markers apoptosis related gene 2- interacting protein X(ALIX), tumor susceptibility gene 101(TSG101), CD81 and calnexin. The NC plasmids, mimics and inhibitors of miR030e-3p were respectively delivered into the NK cells, and the corresponding NK cells-derived Exo were co-cultured with NEC cells, which were divided into NC, Exo, mimic and inhibitor groups. CCK-8 assay was used to evaluate cell proliferation, flow cytometry was conducted to determine cell cycle, annexin V-FITC/PI double staining was employed to detect cell apoptosis, and Transwellassay was performed to detect cell invasion abilities. Real-time quantitative PCR was used to detect the expression of miR-23b, miR-422a, miR-133b, miR-124, miR-30e-3p and miR-99a in NCE cells and exosomes. Results The percentages of CD56CD3cells and CD56CD16cells in NK cells were (0.0710.008)% and (90.610.6)%, respectively. Exosome isolated from NK cells ranged from 30 nm to 150 nm, and was positive for ALIX, TSG101 and CD81, while negative for calnexin. NK cell-derived Exos inhibited the proliferation, reduced the proportion of S-phase cells and the number of invaded cells of NEC cells, and promoted the apoptosis and the proportion of G1 phase cells. Overexpression of miR-30E-3p in NK cell-derived exosome inhibited the proliferation and invasion of NEC cells, and blocked cell cycle and promoted apoptosis, while knockdown miR-30e-3p in NK cell-derived exosomes did the opposite. Conclusion miR-30e-3p in NK cell-derived exosomes can inhibit the proliferation and invasion of ESCC cells, block their cell cycle and induce their apoptosis.

The Harmful Effects of Electromagnetic Fields Explained "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Editor's Note: This article is a reprint. It was originally published September 3, 2017.

I've often noted that electromagnetic fields (EMFs) are a pernicious, hidden health risk. But exactly how does this kind of microwave radiation damage your health? Martin Pall, Ph.D., has identified and published research describing the likely molecular mechanisms of how EMFs from cellphones and wireless technologies damage plants, animals and humans.1,2,3,4

Pall has a bachelor's in physics from Johns Hopkins and a Ph.D. in biochemistry and genetics from Caltech, and is uniquely qualified for this type of research. For the past 18 years, he's been scouring the medical literature, integrating and drawing parallels between work done by others to answer this pressing question. Pall explains:

"There is a huge amount of information out here that nobody has the time to integrate, digest and make connections [between]. That's what I've been doing I was interested in EMFs before I could understand how they worked. Then I stumbled onto two papers that told me, 'Well, this looks like the way they work,' and then I dug out more and more papers

What the [initial two] studies showed was that you could block or greatly lower the effects [of EMF] by using calcium channel blockers That was the key observation

Now [I have found] 26 [papers] They all show that EMFs work by activating what are called voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs). These are channels in the outer membrane of the cell, the plasma membrane that surrounds all our cells. When they're activated, they open up and allow calcium to flow into the cell. It's the excess calcium in the cell which is responsible for most if not all of the [biological effects]."

EMFs and Intracellular Calcium

When you expose cells to EMFs, there's increased intercellular calcium. You also get increases in calcium signaling, which is important as well, in terms of explaining the damage EMFs cause. For the past 25 years, the industry has claimed that non-ionizing radiation is harmless and that the only radiation worth worrying about is ionizing radiation. Pall's research unequivocally proves that this assumption is false.

"It's been very clear, going back all the way to 1971 and even before that, that this wasn't true. But...

YouTube Censors Australian Politicians Maiden Speech to Parliament "IndyWatch Feed War"

By Rebekah Barnett | Brownstone Institute | July 8, 2023

30 minutes of truth bombs is how one Twitter user described Liberal Democrat John Ruddicks maiden speech to the New South Wales (NSW) Parliament, last Wednesday 28 June.

Indeed, Ruddick, who left the Liberal Party in 2021 after public disagreements over the Partys handling of the pandemic response, said out loud in parliament what many Australians have been saying for some time now at first privately, around dinner tables, but increasingly more publicly, over workplace water coolers or at the pub, as saying the obvious becomes more socially acceptable.

Nevertheless, what is socially acceptable offline is not necessarily acceptable on social media. YouTube swiftly removed Ruddicks speech from its platform, just seven hours after it was uploaded. The NSW Liberal Democrats say this is the first time in Australian history that a politicians maiden speech has been censored by the platform.

The interference of the social media giant in Australias political discourse is ironic given this line from Ruddicks speech: We libertarians are plotting to take over the world so we can leave you all alone.

A spokesperson for the Lib Dems says, We initially posted the video on party founder Dr John Humphreys YouTube account. We then circulated that link on other social media for example, this tweet from Dr John, which you can see now links to a takedown notice.

YouTube claims that the video violated its medical misinformation policy, and implied that removing the video was necessary to ensure that YouTube remains a safe place for all.

Note the definition of medical misinformation as information that, contrad....

Incidents have been steadily rising, going from six attacks in 1992 to 17 in 2007 and 33 by 2015. NSW and WA remain the most at risk places, with some areas considered shark bite 'hotspots', such as the Northern Rivers region of NSW. Gold Back Currency Reality "IndyWatch Feed World"

QUESTION: Do you think the BRICS would create a gold-back currency as proposed by Russia?

SJ

ANSWER: The Neocon has directed the Biden administration to remove Russia from SWIFT. Their single-minded goal is destroying the world economy, but they do not care. They think they will conquer Russia and China and dominate the world so they will worry about the monetary system afterward.

You have to understand that if the BRICS followed that directive and created a single gold-back currency, they would have to end any idea of international trade. This proposal is understandable given the hostility of the United States from the Neocons, who are now in charge. Congress is oblivious to what is happening, and the American public is arguing over Transgender destroying the family unit.

This is not some simple one-dimensional idea that we create a limited-backed currency. That will be DEFLATIONARY and, at the same time, promote civil war in the United States. Politicians cannot run for office, promising endless gifts, forgiving student loans, etc. You cannot have deficits. This would NECESSITATE the end of Marxism once and for all.

Zelensky Cancels All Elections Becomes Dictator for Life "IndyWatch Feed World"

QUESTION: Is it true that Zelensky is canceling elections?

HZ

ANSWER: On June 22, 2023, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is a dictator installed by the West to create World War III against Russia. Zelensky told the BBC that Ukraines scheduled 2023 parliamentary and 2024 presidential elections would occur only if martial law had ended by that time, as reported by the New Voice of Ukraine. Hence, he has a personal reason not to seek any peace whatsoever.

There is NO WAY Zelensky is fighting for democracy this is all propaganda. He hates Russians and refuses to allow them to separate as per the Mink Agreement and, at the same time, refuses them to vote in any Ukrainian election, no less for their independence. Zelensky is an outright war criminal, and over 8 million Ukrainians have now fled their own country because he refuses to end the war and is destroying his own country all for Blackrocks investment scheme. His own people would remove him from office, so he cannot allow any election, and there is no way NATO or the USA will allow free elections in Ukraine.

There is no way this war will end without the Donbas destruction and Russias fall. It is a proxy war that the United States started. CIA chief John Brennan traveled to Kiev in 2014 and instructed them to begin the civil war. Kiev called the Russians of the Donbas terrorist because they sought independence from Kiev just as Kiev sought independence from Moscow.

Variation is wonderful "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

Im stealing a fascinating thread on Twitter from Kathleen DePlume. In some ways, its unsurprising: if you compound the natural variation in enough parameters, youll discover that everyone is unique. Its a question of including broad tolerances, and the real question ishow broad do they have to be to accommodate 99% of humanity? And another question would bedont the remaining 1% deserve a place as well? The math is nifty but it isnt the whole of human reality.

So, did you ever wonder why car seats and seatbelts are so wonderfully adjustable? It all goes back to cockpit manufacture.

The USAF wanted to make aircraft with seats and belts fitted to the normal airman; the tolerances werent too wide, but lots of fellas are normal, right?

Wrong.

As it turned out, hilariously wrong.

You see, they measured several thousand enlisted men (just men these were the dark times before women were people) on just a few things.

Leg length, knee to ankle, hip to knee, various seat measurements. Seating height to shoulder.

Shoulder width. Arm length. Shoulder to elbow, elbow to wrist.

You get the point.

Measurements that would allow the cockpit and belts to be correct and safe, as long as they were close enough to the normal specifications.

So, after taking these measurements a great undertaking, the measures got so good at it that they could do all 38* measurements in under 2 minutes they analysed the data.

*I might be misremembering the exact number

They figured if every measurement had tolerances that fit 30% or so normal men, then theyd lose a few percent to the abnormally shaped weirdos (you know the ones people whose arms are way longer than their height, or who have tiny hands compared to their feet?) theyd still fit at least 20% of their potential pilots into the custom measured Everyman cockpits, right?

Wrong.

So, so very wrong.

How many pilots do you think fit in the normal measurements on all 38 metrics?

Go on, take a guess. Ill wait.

Actually, no I wont, because Im writing this as a thread.

Zero. The answer is zero.

Not a single soldier was within tolerances on all measurements.

Out of thousands and thousands of airmen measured, every last man was abnormal on at least one.

It turns out that while yes, arm length and leg length arent exactly independent (if youre tall you probably have long arms AND long legs), their r-value isnt anything like high enough...

26,000-foot Himalayan mountain summit crumbled around 1190 CE, leaving evidence in the plains below "IndyWatch Feed World"

Earth is home to 14 "eight-thousanders," summits that top off at more than 8,000 meters, or 26,247 feet, above sea level. All of these grand mountains tower over the Himalayas, the highest place in the world. But our planet is dynamic could there have been additional peaks like these, since lost? "We wanted to know whether, 830 years ago, the Earth and the Himalayas had one more," says Jrme Lav, a geomorphologist at the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and the University of Lorraine in France. The answer, according to Lav and his colleagues, appears to be yes. In a new paper, published in the journal Nature on July 6, they've found evidence of an ancient landslide that reshaped South Asia's geography and linked that to the collapse of a peak that would have once been one of the tallest mountains on Earth. Lav says his team first spotted the fingerprints of this medieval landslide not in the Himalayas, but far to the south, near the India-Nepal border, in the...

The Robodebt Rogues Gallery "IndyWatch Feed War"

If ever there was an instance of such a hideous failing in government policy and its cowardly implementation by the public service, Australias cruel, inept and vicious Robodebt program would have to be one of them.

Robodebt was a scheme developed by the Department of Human Services (DHS) and submitted as a budget measure by the then Minister for Social Services, Scott Morrison, in 2015.  Its express purpose: to recover claimed overpayments from welfare recipients stretching back to the 2010-11 financial year.  The automated scheme used a deeply flawed income averaging method to assess income and benefit entitlements, yielding inaccurate results.  Vitally, the assumption there was that recipients had stable income through the financial year.  The scheme also failed to comply with the income calculation provisions of the Social Security Act 1991 (Cth).

The results were disastrous for the victims in receipt of crude, harrying debt notices.  The scheme induced despair and mental ruin.  It led to various instances of suicide.  It saw a concerted government assault on the poor and vulnerable.  A remorseless campaign was waged by such unwholesome types as the former human services minister, Alan Tudge, ever keen to libel the undeserving.  Media outlets such as A Current Affair were more than happy to provide platforms for the demonising effort.  We will find you, he told the program, we will track you down, and you will have to repay those debts, and you may end up in prison.

The grotesque policy eventually caught the ire of the courts, which ruled the scheme unlawful.  That, along with a change in government, eventually led to the establishment of a Royal Commission, whose findings by Commissioner Catherine Holmes were released on July 7.  They make for grim reading.

While it will take time to wade through a report running over 1,000 pages, it is fitting to single out a few of the rogues who played starring roles of lasting infamy in the robodebt drama.  Who better to start with than the former Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, whose relationship with the truth continues to be strained and estranged.

In December 2014, Morrison was appointed Minister for Social Services.  He immediately wanted to impress with his promised scalping of alleged welfare cheats and scroungers.  Wishing to make an impression he, unusually, held direct meetings with the secretary of the DHS, Kathryn Campbell, to tease out what would become the robodebt proposal.  Concern from legal officers and senior staff within the Department of Social Services (DSS) about the legal compliance of the program were ignored or dismissed.

The Commission duly rejected as untrue Mr Morrison...

Hackers Have Stolen $30 Billion In Crypto Since 2012, SlowMist Report Finds "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

Due to the anonymity cryptocurrencies provide, the crypto industry is known to be targeted by hackers and other malicious players. This has left many wondering just how much digital currency has been pilfered from right under the nose of the industry over the years.

Now, the latest report by blockchain security firm SlowMist seems to have the answer. According to the recently released report, hackers and scammers have made off with a staggering $30 billion in cryptocurrency since 2012.

Details Of The Report

The SlowMist team analyzed 1,101 hacking incidents to determine how much crypto has been stolen to date and how they were stolen. Their findings show that hackers and scammers employ a variety of methods, with the top ones being contract vulnerability attacks, rug pulls, flash loan attacks, scams, leaking of private keys, and good old phishing attacks to gain access to peoples crypto accounts and wallets.

The most lucrative year for malicious players came in 2021 during the extended crypto hype, with over $9.7 billion stolen in 236 attacks.

In total, the amount stolen in the last decade came up to a little over $30 billion. And given that the overall market cap of all cryptocurrencies is now at $1.14 trillion, the amount reported stolen is over 2.5% of the total market cap.

Crypto hacks

Exchanges And Ethereum Ecosystem Hit The Most

Exchanges have always long been a prime target for hackers looking to steal crypto due to their large holdings and the SlowMist report reflects that.

In total, over 118 attacks were carried out on exchanges, resulting in over $10.9 billion being lost. The biggest of these could be traced back to the $534 million lost in the 2018 Japanese exchange Coincheck hack and the 2014 Mt. Gov hack resulting in a loss of over $473 million.

The companies filed separate complaints in New York state court claiming the law, which takes effect July 12, is based on a misunderstanding of how the food delivery industry works. Grubhub Inc joined DoorDash in its lawsuit. The law will require companies to pay delivery workers $17.96 an hour, which will rise to nearly $20 in April 2025.

Degraded, but not defunct: Modified land still has wildlife value, study says "IndyWatch Feed Enviro"

Humans have transformed the planet to a staggering extent. Studies estimate that, as a species, weve modified at least three-quarters of the Earths land surface. Over time, vibrant mosaics of forest, grassland and wetland have been replaced with our road networks, bustling cities, and industrial-scale pastures, plantations and croplands. With so much of the globe under our influence, more focus needs to be placed on recognizing and preserving the biodiversity value of human-dominated landscapes, says an international team of researchers in a new review study published in Global Ecology and Conservation. The idea that we can have nature conservation of biodiversity in some parts of a landscape, country, or continent, and then have our food production landscapes and human-dominated landscapes in separate areas, I think is a bit ridiculous, study co-author Ben Scheele, an ecologist at Australian National University, told Mongabay. We really have to be serious about having wildlife in areas that are heavily human-modified. To this end, Scheele and his colleagues from Australia and the United States present a new conceptual framework, based on ecological theory, which they say will help resource managers and conservation biologists anticipate how species living in modified landscapes are likely to respond to repeated and rapid changes in land use. Natural forest abuts an oil palm plantation in Sumatra, Indonesia. The large old trees are vital for species survival as surrounding land is converted from one human land use to another. Republicans Are Soooo Over Democracy, Poll Shows "IndyWatch Feed Nthamerica"

Republican voters are done with democracy. Almost 4 in 10 of them are extremely dissatisfied with the way democracy is working in the United States, and another 35 percent expressed at least some dissatisfaction with the current system, according to a recent poll.

A mere 19 percent of Republicans answered the question by saying that they are at least somewhat satisfied with US democracy, which is a stunningly low number.

What is even more remarkable is that the views of GOP voters on the issue are deteriorating rapidly. YouGov, which conducted the poll, had asked the same question a year ago, and the results were quite different.

In 2022, Republicans were evenly divided on the question. Since then, their satisfaction with US democracy has cratered.

This could have different reasons.

For one, the Big Lie continues to spread among Republicans. That isnt particularly surprising since the partys standard bearer, former President Donald Trump, remains obsessed with his loss in the 2020 election and continues to spread falsehoods about it.

He has plenty of help. For various reasons, many GOP officials also keep casting doubt on the integrity of American elections. In addition, spreading the Big Lie is where the money is for the various right-wing propaganda outlets and influencers who make their living in the multi-billion-dollar outrage industrial complex.

The Sorry State of the GOPs Performance Artist Caucus

In addition, even though this was never supported by polling, Republican voters were promised a red wave in the 2022 midterm election.

Instead, they barely won the House and, in spite of having a favorable map, could not take over the Senate.

What is interesting about the new poll is that the people who actually have a right to feel at least somewhat dissatisfied about US democracy have the most positive attitudes about it.

Black and young Americans, two voting blocs that Republican-led states are routinely trying to disenfranchise, are the only demographics in which a plurality of people feel at least somewhat satisfied with elec...

1) Globes carries an interview with Dr. Michael Barak of the ICT on the topic why Jenin has become fertile ground for terror.

Since the start of 2023, Hamas and Islamic Jihad leaderships have injected millions of shekels to encourage the continued intensification of terrorism in the Jenin region. []

Although the activity of these two terrorist organizations is international, how have they managed to provide millions of shekels in six months to their operatives in Jenin? The answer begins in Syria and Lebanon. Both Hezbollah and the Assad regime rely on revenue from the export of the psychostimulant drug Captagon.

2) The ITIC reports on a Hamas lawfare campaign.

Al-Jazeera TV reported Israel was being sued in the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague for a giant suit of $250 billion by a group of European lawyers. When Will Bitcoin Rocket To The Moon? Price Analysis "IndyWatch Feed Crypto"

In the Bitcoin space, one question echoes persistently through the minds of enthusiasts and investors alike: When will Bitcoin rocket to the moon? While no one knows the answer, there are on-chain metrics and historical patterns that can be followed to track down the answer.

Bitcoin Price Analysis: When Will BTC Break Out?

Over the last two weeks, the Bitcoin price has been in a sideways trend. After the Bitcoin bulls were able to turn the tide at $24,900, the price has risen by more than 25%. Since then, however, BTC has been trading in the range between $29.800 and $31.300. Neither bulls nor bears have been able to gain the upper hand and break out of the trading range in higher time frames.

Bitcoin price

The renowned crypto trader and analyst Rekt Capital believes that all it takes is a positive catalyst to current BTC price action. According to him, Bitcoins current sideways trend within a tight range is a mere step away from its ultimate demise. He affirms that a BTC downtrend is only ever one positive catalyst away from ending. And a BTC uptrend is always one negative catalyst from ending, adding:

BTC has performed a bullish Monthly close but is primed for a healthy technical retest at ~$29250. With price currently around $30200 I wonder what negative catalyst will soon emerge to facilitate this technical retest.

On-chain analyst Axel Adler Jr echoes this view and points to BTC total transfer volume as indicator for a massive breakout move. While the exact timing remains elusive, Adler Jr suggests that the moonshot could be triggered by a significant event such as the...

Antidepressants Can Cause Chemical Castration "IndyWatch Feed Health"

From Maryanne Demasi Reports: Antidepressants can cause severe, sometimes irreversible, sexual dysfunction that persists even after discontinuing the medication. Sufferers have described it as chemical castration a type of genital mutilation caused by antidepressants, mainly selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). The condition is known as post-SSRI sexual dysfunction (PSSD), a condition largely unrecognised, and the true incidence of which is unknown.

David Healy, psychiatrist and founder of RxISK.org said, I saw my first patient with PSSD in 2000, a 35-year-old lady who told me that three months after stopping treatment, she could rub a hard-bristled brush across her genitals and feel nothing. Josef Witt-Doerring, psychiatrist and former FDA medical officer said, This condition is so devastating that it will cause serious changes to your life and to those around you.

It happened to Rosie

In 2020, during protracted Covid lockdowns in Melbourne, 23-year-old Rosie Tilli felt an increasing sense of anxiety and depression. Her psychiatrist prescribed a low dose of Lexapro (escitalopram), an SSRI to help Rosie calm down, assuring her that if she experienced side effects, theyd go away once she stopped the medication. Soon after taking the medication Rosie felt emotionally blunted, but took it as a positive sign. At first, I thought it was great because it felt like the medication was working. But then I couldnt feel my emotions, I couldnt cry, I had no sexual desire, and my genitals went numb.

After four months, Rosie decided to slowly wean herself off the medication. Some of her symptoms improved and the fog lifted, but over the next two years her libido faded to nothing. It has been two years of hell. Now, I have no sexual function. Im numb down there. I cant have an orgasm. It feels like my soul has just been vacuumed out of my body. I feel completely asexual, said Rosie. She sought help from various professionals, but none believed it could be the antidepressant because the drug had already left her system. They concluded it was all in her mind.

Rosie went to a local youth centre for help, but they ended up sectioning her under the Mental Health Act with an Involuntary Treatment Order, insisting she take antipsychotic medication. I refused to take an antipsychotic because I knew I wasnt psychotic. Instead, they forced me to take another antidepressant against my will in order to leave the facility, said Rosie. It was the most traumatic thing Ive ever been through in my life. I fel...

PFAS Report puts FDA in Cross-Hairs "IndyWatch Feed Health"

Our report showing supermarket kale to be contaminated with toxic chemicals is getting picked up far and wide. Help us maintain the momentum and call for a ban on toxic PFAS forever chemicals. Action Alert!

Last week, we launched a national campaign on the back of our pilot study showing 7 of 8 supermarket kale samples to be contaminated with PFAS forever chemicals, suggesting much wider contamination of our food supply with these chemicals than the FDA wants to acknowledge. We know PFAS, or polyfluoroalkyl substances, are already being found in alarming amounts in drinking water, in the air, and in thousands of consumer products. We also know that they persist in the environment, accumulate in the human body, and are linked to a host of negative health outcomes. Thats why weve used our pilot study as a springboard to launch a campaign calling for the federal government to issue a ban on the over 12,000 chemicals that fall under the PFAS category.

Our study has already started making waves. It has been picked up by news outlets around the world, including major outlets like The Guardian, The New York Post, and HealthNews. Rob Verkerk, PhDfounder of the Alliance for Natural Health and ANH-USAs Executive and Scientific Director who has headed up the workwas also on Ron Hoffman, MDs Intelligent Medicine podcast to discuss the report. You can find a comprehensive list of media outlets which have covered and discussed our report below.

U.S. regulatory agencies have proven themselves incapable or unwilling to meaningfully address the extensive PFAS contamination. We need to create a groundswell of grassroots support for a ban on PFAS chemicals as soon as possible. Visit the reports landing page to send a message to your state and federal....
